Computers For Kids

Increasingly, children are faced with school work that requires computer and internet access to complete. We are participating in a joint effort with Teaming for Technology (T4T) and the United Way of the Greater Triangle to bring computers to children in need across the county. T4T is dedicated to bridging the digital divide in North Carolina by empowering low-income families with children and individuals with disabilities by giving them a home computer to help advance their achievements.

Friend's is able to purchase refurbished computer systems from T4T at a very reasonable price. The computers include Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Standard and software to increase computer security. The computers become the property of the children to whom they have been given and if the children move to another placement the computers move with them.

If you know of a child in care who needs but does not have access to a computer, you may apply for a computer system from the Friends of the Wake Guardian Ad Litem by emailing a completed computer grant application to info@friendsofwakegal.org.
