The Friends Grant was created to enhance the lives of members of our community who are making sincere efforts to work through unfortunate life circumstances. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for children who often struggle with the effects of poverty, homelessness, lack of family stability, significant educational gaps, social stigma, and lack of opportunities for social interaction and enrichment activities. Often, the children have the additional challenges of developmental delays and physical handicaps, and many are struggling to overcome mental health problems.

Applicants & Recipients

Any involved professional or paraprofessional (social worker, school personnel, case managers, Guardians ad Litem, Parent Liaison, counselors, etc.) who identifies a significant need for a child or a family may submit an application. Applicants should have exhausted all other reasonable resources and should document those efforts in the application. In general, most requests are capped at $300.00; however, all grant requests will be reviewed individually. Friends of GAL assists families who assume custody of children who would otherwise be placed in foster care. The Friends Grant is intended to provide one-time assistance.
